Botswana is full of mind blowing caves, deep red sunsets and the starriest skies you have ever seen. 4x4ing through Botswana is proper bush camping and it is truly an experience like no other. One of the best trails in Botswana is of course, the Isolation Trail. This trail runs through the barren landscape of the Kalahari Desert and is a rewarding challenge for any 4×4 enthusiast. This journey begins in Makalambedi and it leads you right through the heart of the Kalahari Desert and then transports you to the green banks of the Caprivi Strip in Namibia.

The Isolation Trail is of course a daunting challenge and South Africa 4×4 will equip you with the right vehicle, with the right equipment, at the right price. You will have everything you could possibly need and more. South Africa 4×4 will help you every step of the way on this 3-week adventure. The country side is remote and wild and it presents its own set of challenges every day. You need to do as much research as you can on the trail so that you are fully prepared in emergency situations and we can take care of things a lot smoother.

There will be many sites along the trail that will leave you in awe such as; Deception Valley and a quaint little town called Maun. These two places are complete opposites of each other but they are sure to bring the same amount of Joy.

  1. Deception Valley

The view you will get from the top of Deception Valley is enough to make even the strongest men weep as they gaze upon the valley floor of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. It is here where you will breathe in the fresh Kalahari air and revel in a unique experience. While navigating through this wondrous landscape, be on the lookout for Gemsbok, Giraffe and Lion hiding in the shade from the hot sun. Be sure there are no unwanted guests around before you set up camp.

  1. Maun

It is tie to unwind a little at this bustling little town. It is here where you can restock your supplies and even buy some new ones. Spice is very popular in this town. You can also browse the local markets for gifts to take back for your loved ones. Maun is the gateway to the Okavango Delta and that is where things really get interesting.
