Whilst on a guided self-drive safari I would be able to offer the clients all of the above and much more. I have had lots of experience in most areas of operation with many trips to places such as; Etosha, Sossusvlei, The Skeleton Coast, Central Kalahari, The Moremi, Savuti, Chobe, Victoria falls, Hwange, Mana Pools, Kariba and surrounding areas, Gorongoza, Mozambican coast,  The Lower Zambezi, Lusaka, The Richtersveld , Kalagadi, The Kruger and its surrounding private game reserves.

I am very passionate about Africa and its wildlife and enjoy sharing that with others. I enjoy hosting and looking after people whilst on safari which gives the client time to explore and enjoy the various areas.  I can offer advice of photography being a very keen photographer myself. Being a FGASA level 1 guide I can offer clients good knowledge and identification of wildlife including birds as well as general ecology and animal interaction.  I conduct myself in a professional manner always outing the client first.

Gary Parker

Gary is a qualified FGASA Trails Guide, Level 4 Track & Sign and Western Cape Guide with two passions in life: the African bush & its wildlife, and wildlife photography.

His 16 years’ experience in the industry has given him the perfect “classroom” in which to hone his skills and develop his abilities – attention to detail, understanding of wildlife, patience for the ‘perfect shot’ and most importantly, recognizing the needs of his guests.

Gary’s love for the African bush and his appetite for travel have taken him too many countries within Southern Africa, U.K., Europe and the U.S.A., with Botswana being at the top of his list. He’s also had the opportunity of guiding and visiting many incredible lodges – the one closest to his heart is Tswalu Private Game Reserve in the Green Kalahari.

One of the many benefits of guiding at these lodges has been developing an appreciation for fine dining cuisine and South African wines – his own preference being a really good Pinotage.
