Exciting times ! South Africa 4×4 has started with bringing in the new Land Rover 110 Defender 2.2 into our fleet. We have tested a 2.2 for the past 12 months and found that Land Rover did make significant improvements with the new 2.2 version. Most of the focus is on reliability and fuel economy and this Land Rover did succeed in. The old classic Land Rover look and ultimate safari adventure experience is still there.
We bought the first two Land Rover 110 Defenders during the month of November 2016 and they are on the road with good reviews. Welcome Bos Tokoloshe and Hyena. We have 14 more vehicles to replace and should have this process complete by end of June 2017.
What does this mean for our clients. The ability to rent a Land Rover till 2020. More Ultimate Safari Expedition Land Rovers to rent as the new Defender 110’s are truly beautiful vehicles and we equip them accordingly. See South Africa 4×4’s our website for more details
What is going to happen going forward. Currently there is enough Land Rovers in stock to replace our fleet and keep us being able to offer a 4×4 Land Rover for our rental clients. From 2020 we will have two options. We will either have to rebuilt them ourselves or someone would have bought the Land Rover rights to manufacture Land Rovers and supply the market with parts. There are a couple of business people in discussions with Land Rover. Lets see where this ends up. For now, we enjoy the superior 4×4 capabilities from the Land rover Defender.
I ( Carel Pienaar ), am Looking forward to welcome you to our new experience and our new Land Rover 110 Defenders. See you in 2017 for your 4×4 adventure!
Bos Tokoloshe – The Tokoloshe is a mystical creature in many African cultures which is regarded as mischievous and sometime a bit of an evil spirit that may be best to avoid. Our version of the Tokoloshe has the mischievous fun captured and it all happened in the bush ( Bos ). The Land Rover does sometime bring my evil spirit out when they misbehave. What a symbiotic relationship.
